What You Will Learn
Built on three pillars: hospital-based clinical training, self-paced academic content, and structured exam preparation. This program takes you from MBBS graduate to MRCP-ready specialist. You will:
- Master core Internal Medicine competencies across Cardiology, Respiratory Medicine, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, and Neurology, gained through genuine hands-on hospital rotations.
- Build genuine diagnostic and management skills through supervised hands-on rotations in partner hospitals.
- Prepare systematically for every stage of MRCP, from Part 1 through to PACES with a syllabus-mapped curriculum.
- Demonstrate systematic patient examination, clear communication, and diagnostic precision aligned to MRCP PACES examination standards.
- Maintain an authenticated digital clinical logbook of diverse inpatient admissions, outpatient consultations, and procedural competencies.
Why Choose This Program
This program combines 24 months of hands-on Internal Medicine clinical training at India's premier tertiary care hospitals along with recorded video lectures and study notes that reinforce what you learn on the wards. Alongside this, a fully structured test-prep track runs through your training: high-yield notes, extensive question banks, realistic mock exams and past papers, and dedicated academic mentors, all mapped to the MRCP blueprint.
Clinical Relevance & Practical Application
Internal medicine represents the intellectual foundation of hospital care, demanding rapid diagnostic precision, multi-organ integration, and evidence-based pharmacotherapy. In this program, doctors are not passive observers; they are actively integrated into hospital clinical teams. Trainees learn to evaluate multi-morbid elderly patients, manage fulminant sepsis, treat acute decompensated heart failure, interpret complex metabolic panels, and handle complex polypharmacy. Every module is directly linked to bedside clinical dilemmas, ensuring that every concept mastered online is immediately reinforced during morning rounds, emergency admissions, and ICU resuscitations.
How Will You Learn
The program utilizes an evidence-based blended learning pedagogy designed around adult learning principles:
- On-Demand Digital Modules: Over 70 high-yield video lectures and structured clinical ePub reading materials covering 12 subspecialties, accessible anytime via the OC Academy mobile and web LMS.
- Live Clinical Grand Rounds: Interactive weekly case presentations, mortality reviews, and diagnostic reasoning sessions led by senior academic clinicians and examiners.
- 2-Year Rotational Hospital Postings: 24 months of immersive clinical training across General Medicine, Critical Care, Emergency Triage, and Subspecialties with a yearly stipend up to INR 6.0 LPA.
- MRCP (UK) Examination Suite: Dedicated question banks, timed mock exam series, and structured PACES clinical communication workshops to ensure first-time examination success.
Rotational Clinical Training & Stipend
Clinical immersion is the cornerstone of this residency program. Fellows are placed in accredited corporate and tertiary care hospitals with high patient footfall, advanced diagnostic infrastructure, and dedicated medical ICUs. The 2-year rotational schedule ensures balanced exposure:
- General Internal Medicine Wards (10 Months): Broad exposure to acute infections, metabolic crises, rheumatic disorders, and chronic disease management.
- Medical Intensive Care & Emergency (6 Months): Advanced mechanical ventilation, vasopressor management, non-invasive ventilation, and bedside ultrasound.
- Medical Subspecialty Electives (8 Months): Rotations in Cardiology, Nephrology/Dialysis, Gastroenterology/Endoscopy, Neurology, and Pulmonology.
- Stipend: Trainees receive a yearly stipend of up to INR 6.0 LPA throughout their clinical hospital postings.
